The Caterpillar and the Express Train is an illustrated story about a caterpillar (Sally) who unintentionally climbs into the hub of the Silver Bullet’s Express Train’s wheel.
The express steam engine is the fastest train on the East Coast of America and travels between Boston and Miami. The other trains nickname the Silver Bullet, “Bully”.
When the train’s loud whistle breaks, Sally saves the day by holding the broken wires together so that the train is saved from embarrassment, as he is now able to whistle in all the stations down to Miami. Sally changes his nick name from “Bully” to “Silly.
Sally and Silly become good friends and the train asks if the caterpillar will stay with him, we get the reply,
“Don’t be silly Silly,” Sally said. “I will stay with you for ever.”
But things don’t quite work out as planned.

The Caterpillar and the Express Train Jeremy FosterFell Matthew Gauvin eBook Reviews
I liked this book so much that I featured it on my website and you can read a much longer review there [...]
Here is the succinct version What's not to like?
*It is a very sweet story that children of either sex will thoroughly enjoy.
*It has things that kids are naturally drawn to - trains, bugs, butterflies, animals, colorful illustrations, fun sounds, cheerful story and more!
*It has incredibly beautiful illustrations that kids will enjoy and adults will appreciate as well.
*It is a book that can grow with the child. For the very young the illustrations will entertain, for the child who likes to be read to it will be something that they will love to curl up in your lap and moo at the cows, make the choo-choo noises while you read it to them, for children that can read by themselves, it will be a book that will be great for quiet time and won't seem "babyish" to a reading aged child.
*The pages are a great size (Product Dimensions 9.7 x 7.8 x 0.2 inches) so that the illustrations can be easily enjoyed and everyone who is sitting on your lap will be able to see what is going on in the book. ;-)
*The adults that might be reading this book to their children are going to enjoy it too! It won't be that stupid book your kid loves that you read because you have to - it will be something you look forward to reading out loud!
I highly recommend this book!!! In fact, I even gave it my seal of approval and it has been "Gift Detective, APPROVED!"
I'm looking forward to seeing other books from this author and illustrator duo and hope that they work together often and produce more beautiful books for families to enjoy!
