Imagine a world of magic, adventure and wonder. Imagine being able to control everything around you simply by using your imagination. Imagine being able to fly across vast skies, explore cities made of gold and experience the wonders of the world like you've never seen them before. Now imagine you only need to fall asleep to get there.
Kai and Lindsay stumble across the entrance to the Dream Sanctum, a massive world where people are limited only by their imaginations. However, due to an experiment gone awry, horrible creations called Nightmares are set loose into the Sanctum. They are not bound by the laws of the Sanctum and attack dreamers from the shadows, sending them into a fitful sleep from which they cannot wake.
Together, along with child prodigy Kwin, master swordsman Alastor, and overconfident hero Hercules, Kai and Lindsay set out to destroy the Nightmares and their creator before the whole Sanctum is overrun.

Simply put, the book is a lot of fun. The whole story is about a dream world in which virtually anything can happen. The author takes that to the max, letting us experience a very imaginative place and taking us all along for a wild ride. Flying, epic sword fights, airships, mythical cities, there's a lot to explore in the dream world. And when dangers sets in, it is powerful, dangerous, and frightening. The world feels very complete and the atmosphere is good. The characters are all interesting and generally pretty fun. I'd definitely recommend it.Product details

The Dream Sanctum Through The Golden Door Kay Solo 9781520519500 Books Reviews
this is one of my favorite books. I love the concept of it. it's kind of like Harry Potter where I always wanted to get my letter to Hogwarts, and with this book I keep wanting to go to sleep to see if I can find this world if it actually exists. I've always wanted to be able to lucid dream, and it would be so cool to do that in a world where you could also meet other people!
it's such a cool concept, and there are so many awesome characters in it. I think Kwin is one of my favorite characters out of any book I've ever read. the writing is smart and sarcastic and funny. and this book also made me cry multiple times and still had a happy ending. I can't explain how worked up I got over one scene specifically (spoilers!)
I must have read this book at least five times already, and I can't wait for the second.
I love this book. It tells a really cool story about a dream world where you can go and interact with people and unleash your creativity. I personally would love it if such a place existed.
The book is written in a great way; it made me laugh, and it made me cry. The details give you a pretty good picture of how everything is. The characters are quite likeable, and you can easily associate with them. There are many twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat, and there are also many sweet and funny moments that will touch you and make you smile. I finished the whole thing in one sitting, and I can definitely say that it's one of my favourite books.
Definitely recommend it!
This is an imaginative story that will drag you into the world the author has created and not let go until the last page.
There's something really fun about reading about a completely make-believe world like this one. One of the things that make it stand out from some of the other fantasy worlds is that it all takes place in a dream, so there is a sense of still keeping things realistic, because, hey, it's just a dream. Kai, the protagonist, is introduced to this world by accident, and like any of us would feel if this were to really happen, he can't wait to go back and learn all about it. Kai is a fun character to follow, he has his funny moments and he definitely keeps the story moving along. Yes, there is what I feel is an unrealistic romantic relationship, but this is usually the case in young adult books, so it's not too worrying.
There are a few grammatical errors that might bug some reads, but overall, the plot is captivating enough to make us forgive these just to see what's going to happen next.
I do recommend this to all lovers of fantasy and young adult books.
The Dream Sanctum is a really good read, it's quite a different concept to anything I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were all likable and what you see is what you get with most of them with the exception of one or two which is tied up to the story, they all have something about them that compliments the others and their own specialness that sets them apart for instance - Kai is super creative with his imagination and Kwin is a child prodigy who knows everything and helps Kai navigate the whole new world he has discovered, teaching him how to use his imagination and just what he can be capable of. The story is definitely where it's at and this whole dream sanctum world in which it is set, although I have to admit it did have a bit of a Never ending story feel to it, not huge but my mind wandered there. I also liked the side plot which was about one of the main characters and addressed a major query, what if you never had to leave? It seems as though each of them had that demon to confront especially Kai & Lindsey who were compelled to sleep more in order to enter the dream world more often which caused a knock on effect with their home/school life to the point where people were starting to notice and they needed to find a balance but not everyone could and when secrets were told - it was heart breaking. This is yet another book that is filled with tons of imagination, in fact it's a whole world built around peoples' dreams. The author has created an amazing scenario and I liked the idea that dreamers could all gather in this one world and more or less have another life, filled with adventure and magic that is only limited by the imagination and as with a few books I've read lately this would be visually stunning and could do with the Studio Ghibli animation treatment because it has that sort of feel to it. I did feel however that it is more aimed at a younger audience so I might try and get my 15yr old son to read it because I think it would appeal to him a lot more - but regardless it was a really enjoyable read.
In The Dream Sanctum a whole new world awaits and you only need to fall asleep to get there .
You can explore vast cities and control the world around you with your imagination.
This is a beautiful book filled with adventure and mystery .
It has great characters that you will love to follow and learn more about.
I really enjoyed this book.I had a hard time putting it down.
The world Koeker creates is so easy to get lost into .
To put simply it's enchanting .
I highly recommend this book .
I'm a little biased as I used to study lucid dreaming once upon a time, so that's why it was so easy for me to get into this book. But it really is a very pleasant read, with good pacing and a nice balance between the dream world and the real world. The fantasy element makes it a good read for younger bookworms, but there's a lot of informational tidbits that more experienced readers can pick up on and learn from. My only complaint is that it doesn't tell me how to get to the Dream Sanctum! ^_^
